New Product - SilentBoard 18mm Thick Fibre Cement Floorboard

We are pleased to announce we are now stocking a new and unique product called SilentBoard.  

SilentBoard is a unique A1 fire rated high density fibre cement floor board designed to be used in a wide range of applications.  The high mass properties helps to reduce airborne noise penetration and transfer through separating floors. SilentBoard installed on top of R10 Acoustic Matting and 10kg Soundproofing Mat provides a very efficient and stable floating floor.  This product can also be used in conjunction with our SoundSense Isolation System for improved sound isolation.  With it being fibre cement it is not effected by weather/moisture so provides an ideal structural platform to work from, even if exposed to the elements.

SilentBoard has Tongue and Grove on all 4 sides making it simple and quick to fit.  It is easy to lay with minimal waste and is frost, moisture and weather resistant. As well as being Class A1 fire resistant it is also 100% completely recyclable.

As well as the acoustic improvements that come with this product it will also help to improve thermal properties specifically when used in conjunction with underfloor heating.

SilentBoard has a wide range of suitable applications including flat roofs, loft conversions, renovations, new builds, bathrooms, kitchens, wetrooms, mezzanine flooring and more.  It can be laid on metal, timber and concrete structures and any type of floor can be laid on top of it.

By using SilentBoard in your build you are guaranteed to have a squeak free installation when used in conjunction with Green Glue Joist Tape.

SilentBoard is produced by STS and comprises of Portland cement, cellulose fibres, sand, water and other minor aggregates.  These construction boards completely fulfil the requirements of resistance, safety and durability required in the construction of buildings as well as the most stringent environmental regulations.  When exposed to moisture these boards don't change shape, rot or expand like chipboard, plywood or other timber based flooring.
