Advanced Acoustics Euphonic Studio Starter Kit - Small

What's In The Box?

Each Small Euphonic Starter Kit contains 32 Acoustic Tiles and 4 2ft Wedge Bass Traps. The 12" Wedge Euphonic Acoustic Tile is a mix of two of the most popular products, the Wedge Acoustic Tile and the Tegular Acoustic Tile.  When mixed together these tiles create a great looking checkerboard effect.  A kit of acoustic tiles contains 16 of each tile, 32 acoustic tiles in total.  The tiles are sized 305mm (12") by 305mm (12") and the acoustic tiles will cover a total area of 2.97sqm (32sqft).  The 16 Wedge profiled tiles are 40mm thick and cut on precise CNC machines.  The 16 Tegular profiled tiles are 55mm thick and have a 45 degree bevel on all 4 sides.  These kits, as well as all of our other products, are shipped uncompressed and ready for you to install as soon as you receive them.  With an NRC of 0.8 the 12" Wedge Euphonic Acoustic Tile will give you all the absorption you need for achieving quality recordings.  The dimension of the bass traps are 305mm (12") wide and 610mm (24") long. The overall width of the face is 430mm. The profile of the wedge bass trap make them a perfect match with these acoustic foam tiles. Using the bass traps and acoustic tiles in conjunction with each other will ensure the full frequency range is taken care of. The 2ft Wedge Bass Trap is effective down to 40Hz. This acoustic treatment kit is available in Mid Grey or Dark Grey and dispatched quickly from our UK factory.

What Are The Benefits?

Our Advanced Acoustics Starter Kits are complete room packages designed to be a starting point for the treatment of a given space. The bigger the room, the more kits you'll need.  All the products are available individually so you can supplement the kit with an extra pack of tiles or a few extra Bass Traps if you need them.

The Euphonic range of sound deadening acoustic tiles is a popular choice for studio and home cinema installers.  The pre-mixed box of wedge profiled tiles and square Tegular is a unique idea which offers a combination of ample foam thickness and increased surface area, the best of both worlds.

By installing small clusters of these acoustic treatment tiles in a random orientation around the room at first reflection points or other key areas you will increase acoustic clarity and remove unwanted distortion. These acoustic studio foam tiles work hard at controlling mid to high frequencies to help remove echo and control reverberation.

The wedge profile is the most instantly recognisable profile used in studio products so why not have a bass trap to match?  This classic cut profile is sharp and clean just like your recordings will be once these Bass Traps are installed. Bass Traps are vital for any studio design and should be one of the top priorities of studio design.

Once effective bass control has been installed standing waves are minimised and low end build up is brought under control.  Low end energy congregates in all corners of rooms so by placing effective bass traps in the corners you can reduce the detrimental effect this has.

Care is taken in optimising size, profile, foam cell structure and foam density to present a product that offers high visual and acoustic value.  Durability is high on our list of priorities too, we manufacture a foam that won't crumble and turn to dust and won't change colour as soon as you've mounted them.

Where Can I Use Them?

There are a wide range of applications for our acoustic products including:

  • High End Professional Studios
  • Home Studios
  • Rehearsal Rooms
  • Home Cinemas
  • Dedicated Listening Rooms
  • And more

Installing our acoustic foam tiles and bass traps included in this kit is very simple. The first step to take is to work out your preferred layout of acoustic tiles and bass traps. Do a sketch on paper first to make sure that the layout looks right and you have enough acoustic foam and space for your planned design. It is best to have small to medium sized clusters of acoustic foam tiles evenly distributed as opposed to one huge cluster of tiles in the middle of a wall.

Once the acoustic tiles and bass traps are mounted to the wall or ceiling they are hard to remove so it is important to get the layout right before you begin. Once you have a sketch of the layout you plan you can then mark up the wall with the layout. You can either use pencil, masking tape or lasers to layout the design on the wall or ceiling.

When mounting the acoustic foam to the wall or ceiling apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile or bass traps and the mounting surface. There is no need to heavily cover the acoustic foam or wall with adhesive, a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile or bass trap along with 50% - 75% coverage of the rest of the acoustic tile or bass trap will be fine. Use the same equivalent amount on the wall. Avoid overspray on the product and the wall so that adhesive can’t be seen when the tiles are in place. Masking Tape on the wall will help with this. If you do get webbing overspray on the tile, don’t touch it, allow it to dry, in most cases you will be able to peel the adhesive off.

We would recommend that you install your Bass Traps first. You can re-confirm that everything is going to fit and look right before continuing with installing the acoustic tiles.

The adhesive we supply is solvent based so we recommend that you keep all doors of the room and any windows open whilst completing the installation.

If you prefer to have a more temporary installation of acoustic tiles you can mount the tiles onto 6mm MDF or ply to create panels of acoustic tiles. These panels can then be hung on the wall using a D-Ring and picture hook for a damage free installation. If fitting them to a ceiling then 4 mirror plates would be required.
