Advanced Acoustics Wedge PRO Studio Starter Kit - Small

What's In The Box?

Each Small Wedge PRO Starter Kit contains 24 Wedge Acoustic Tiles and 4 2ft Wedge Bass Traps. The 12" Wedge Acoustic Tile Pack is an instantly recognisable acoustic treatment product used widely amongst studios.  It is a highly effective studio tile, offering a large surface area and is a classic design.  Included in each kit are 24 acoustic foam tiles.  The individual tiles are 305mm (12") by 305mm (12").  The acoustic tiles will cover a total area of 2.23sqm (24sqft).  The 12" Wedge Acoustic Tiles are 75mm thick.  We also offer a 'Standard' version with 40mm thick tiles if a thinner acoustic tile is required.  The dimension of the bass traps are 305mm (12") wide and 610mm (24") long. The overall width of the face is 430mm. The profile of the wedge bass trap make them a perfect match with these acoustic foam tiles. Using the bass traps and acoustic tiles in conjunction with each other will ensure the full frequency range is taken care of. The 2ft Wedge Bass Trap is effective down to 40Hz. The Wedge Acoustic Tiles and Bass Traps are made using precise CNC machinery in our UK facility to ensure a perfect product every time.  All of our products are shipped out completely uncompressed and are ready to be installed as soon as they are received.  This acoustic treatment kit has the option of Mid Grey or Dark Grey colour.

What Are The Benefits?

Our Advanced Acoustics Starter Kits are complete room packages designed to be a starting point for the treatment of a given space. The bigger the room, the more kits you'll need.  All the products are available individually so you can supplement the kit with an extra pack of tiles or a few extra Bass Traps if you need them.

The wedge profile is the most popular design of profile used for professional and home studios, vocal booths, cinema rooms and more.  This classic cut of profile is clean and consistent and makes installation simple.  Performance is up there too thanks to the large surface area from the extreme slopes.

By installing small clusters of these acoustic treatment tiles in a random orientation around the room at first reflection points or other key areas you will increase acoustic clarity and remove unwanted distortion. These acoustic studio foam tiles work hard at controlling mid to high frequencies to help remove echo and control reverberation.

The wedge profile is the most instantly recognisable profile used in studio products so why not have a bass trap to match?  This classic cut profile is sharp and clean just like your recordings will be once these Bass Traps are installed. Bass Traps are vital for any studio design and should be one of the top priorities of studio design.

Once effective bass control has been installed standing waves are minimised and low end build up is brought under control.  Low end energy congregates in all corners of rooms so by placing effective bass traps in the corners you can reduce the detrimental effect this has.

Care is taken in optimising size, profile, foam cell structure and foam density to present a product that offers high visual and acoustic value.  Durability is high on our list of priorities too, we manufacture a foam that won't crumble and turn to dust and won't change colour as soon as you've mounted them.

Where Can I Use Them?

There are a wide range of applications for our acoustic products including:

  • High End Professional Studios
  • Home Studios
  • Rehearsal Rooms
  • Home Cinemas
  • Dedicated Listening Rooms
  • And more

Installing our acoustic foam tiles and bass traps included in this kit is very simple. The first step to take is to work out your preferred layout of acoustic tiles and bass traps. Do a sketch on paper first to make sure that the layout looks right and you have enough acoustic foam and space for your planned design. It is best to have small to medium sized clusters of acoustic foam tiles evenly distributed as opposed to one huge cluster of tiles in the middle of a wall.

Once the acoustic tiles and bass traps are mounted to the wall or ceiling they are hard to remove so it is important to get the layout right before you begin. Once you have a sketch of the layout you plan you can then mark up the wall with the layout. You can either use pencil, masking tape or lasers to layout the design on the wall or ceiling.

When mounting the acoustic foam to the wall or ceiling apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile or bass traps and the mounting surface. There is no need to heavily cover the acoustic foam or wall with adhesive, a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile or bass trap along with 50% - 75% coverage of the rest of the acoustic tile or bass trap will be fine. Use the same equivalent amount on the wall. Avoid overspray on the product and the wall so that adhesive can’t be seen when the tiles are in place. Masking Tape on the wall will help with this. If you do get webbing overspray on the tile, don’t touch it, allow it to dry, in most cases you will be able to peel the adhesive off.

We would recommend that you install your Bass Traps first. You can re-confirm that everything is going to fit and look right before continuing with installing the acoustic tiles.

The adhesive we supply is solvent based so we recommend that you keep all doors of the room and any windows open whilst completing the installation.

If you prefer to have a more temporary installation of acoustic tiles you can mount the tiles onto 6mm MDF or ply to create panels of acoustic tiles. These panels can then be hung on the wall using a D-Ring and picture hook for a damage free installation. If fitting them to a ceiling then 4 mirror plates would be required.

Impressed with the quality

Impressed with the quality - much better than others Ive bought in the past from different companies. Really dense foam, cut perfectly. Great customer service too - I needed my bass traps cutting into different lengths, which wasnt a problem. I opted to collect as Im local, and my order was ready to collect the same day. Dont waste your time and money by going elsewhere - just use these guys. Highly recommended.

Its exactly what I was looking for.

Ordered from this guys and was filled with confidence as soon as I opened the box. Very fast delivery, very well packaged, didnt have to wait a day or so the foam to go to the normal size. The foam itself is quality stuff! Its exactly what I was looking for. 10/10 would recommend.
