Advanced Acoustics 30" x 30" F.A.T. Standard Acoustic Studio Foam Tile Pack

Introducing the 30" F.A.T. Acoustic Tile Pack, an enduring studio classic described by many as the fundamental of acoustic treatment. The F.A.T. stands for Fundamental Acoustic Treatment, reflecting its importance in establishing a solid foundation for acoustic control within your studio. Featuring the distinctive egg-crate or convoluted profile, these tiles offer exceptional sound diffusion and absorption properties.

What's Included in the 30" F.A.T. Acoustic Tile Pack? 6 acoustic tiles are contained in each box, with each tile measuring 762mm by 762mm and 40mm thick at its peak. This pack covers a total area of 3.48sqm (37.5sqft), making it an ideal solution for various studio sizes. For optimal aesthetic appeal, we recommend leaving a 20-40mm gap between each tile, allowing them to showcase their classic effect against a contrasting wall colour. With an NRC of 0.55, these acoustic tiles are particularly effective in treating vocal booths, podcast studios, and similar spaces. All tiles are dispatched uncompressed from our UK production facility, reflecting our commitment to delivering quality products. Available in Mid Grey.

Take the first step towards perfecting your studio's acoustics with our intuitive 'Coverage Calculator' Tab, designed to calculate the optimal amount of treatment for your space.

Experience the Benefits of F.A.T. Acoustic Tiles:

Studio Classic Profile: The egg-crate or egg-box profile has long been synonymous with studios. It provides a cost-effective yet high-performing solution for acoustic treatment, effectively managing sound reflections and reverberations.

Improved Acoustic Clarity: Cluster these acoustic tiles in a random arrangement around the studio, focusing on first reflection points and key areas. This strategic placement enhances acoustic clarity while eliminating unwanted distortions. The tiles' effectiveness in controlling mid to high frequencies significantly reduces echo and promotes controlled reverberations.

Versatile Design Possibilities: The random profile of F.A.T. Acoustic Tiles means that leaving a 20mm gap between tiles will give you optimal aesthetic performance. These tiles can also be seamlessly integrated with our other 30" Studio Foam Tiles, such as the S.E.A.M. Acoustic Tile, to create a truly unique and artistic acoustic treatment solution.

Dedicated Craftsmanship and Sustainability: Our commitment to excellence extends to the production process and materials we use. Our foam is engineered for durability, ensuring it remains intact and effective over time. Advanced Acoustics operates with sustainability in mind, packaging our products in 100% recyclable materials and maintaining ample stock for prompt delivery.

    Performance Data

F.A.T. Standard Acoustic Foam Tile Pack

Installing our acoustic foam tiles is very simple. The first step to take is to work out your preferred layout of acoustic tiles. Do a sketch on paper first to make sure that the layout looks right and you have enough acoustic foam and space for your planned design. It is best to have small to medium sized clusters of acoustic foam tiles evenly distributed as opposed to one huge cluster of tiles in the middle of a wall.

Once the acoustic tiles are mounted to the wall or ceiling they are hard to remove so it is important to get the layout right before you begin. Once you have a sketch of the layout you plan you can then mark up the wall with the layout. You can either use pencil, masking tape or lasers to layout the design on the wall or ceiling.

When mounting the acoustic tiles to the wall apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. There is no need to heavily cover the acoustic foam or wall with adhesive, a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile along with 50% - 75% coverage of the rest of the tile will be fine. Use the same equivalent amount on the wall. Avoid overspray on the tile and the wall so that adhesive can’t be seen when the tiles are in place. Masking Tape on the wall will help with this. If you do get webbing overspray on the tile, don’t touch it, allow it to dry, in most cases you will be able to peel the adhesive off.

The adhesive we supply is solvent based so we recommend that you keep all doors of the room and any windows open whilst completing the installation.

If you prefer to have a more temporary installation of acoustic tiles you can mount the tiles onto 6mm MDF or ply to create panels of acoustic tiles. These panels can then be hung on the wall using a D-Ring and picture hook for a damage free installation. If fitting them to a ceiling then 4 mirror plates would be required.
