Prepare for application
Hang your first layer of plasterboard per local building codes, making sure the surface is free from any protrusions that would prevent the second layer from mounting flush.
Cut the end of the tube of Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound as shown. Screw on nozzle and cut tip, leaving an opening of approximately 10mm. Insert tube into a 900ml Jumbo caulk gun to prepare for application.
Apply Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound
Apply Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound in a random pattern across the entire back of the second sheet, leaving a 50mm-75mm" border free of compound around the edge to allow for handling.
Apply one to three tubes of Noiseproofing Compound per 1.2mx2.4m sheet of plasterboard, keeping in mind one tube of Noiseproofing Compound will give roughly 70% of the performance of two tubes.
Raise Plasterboard into position
After applying Noiseproofing Compound to the plasterboard sheet, raise the board into position, press against the wall or ceiling, and fasten into place using appropriate screws. It must be hung and fastened in place within 15 minutes to prevent the compound from curing before it is installed.
We recommend staggering the panels of the second layer in order to cover the seams of the first layer, leaving a 6mm gap to apply Acoustic Sealant.
Attach Plasterboard
Follow all appropriate local building codes regarding screw type and spacing.

Very easy to work with, extremely good results combined with all the other elements during the construction of my home cinema. Price is a bit inhibitive - we need a cheaper U.K. equivalent, but so far there is nothing here that is like this.

perfect...did what i needed it to do.
It did have and left the room with a chemical smell but it went away after two days. I did about 6 windows , two small and 3 large with a quarter of the product left in the tube. It muffled our loud neighbors and barking dogs. so now it seams they are whispering all the time..lol

May actually be witchcraft
I used this to build a live room in my home studio - I put a layer of this on hardboard sheets when I then stapled to the plasterboard walls of my house. The degree of noise reduction is extraordinary, even with the thin walls of my house the neighbours don't hear me thrashing away at my drumkit. A great purchase and a 100% recommendation.
What’s the difference between acoustic treatment and soundproofing?
Acoustic treatment improves the sound inside a room by reducing echo and reverb. Soundproofing reduces noise entering or leaving a room using barrier and isolation materials.
Do acoustic foam tiles soundproof a room?
Acoustic foam tiles help control reflections and improve clarity, but they won’t fully soundproof a room on their own. For neighbour or traffic noise you’ll usually need a soundproofing system as well.
How many acoustic foam tiles do I need?
It depends on your room size and what you’re using the space for. Use our Acoustic Treatment Coverage Calculator for a quick recommendation.
What are bass traps used for?
Bass traps help reduce low-frequency build-up in corners, which can make a room sound boomy or uneven. They’re a great upgrade for studios, listening rooms and home cinemas.
What is mass loaded vinyl (MLV) used for? Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) is a thin, heavy barrier used in soundproofing systems to reduce airborne noise through walls, ceilings and floors. It’s often combined with other layers for best results.
What’s the best option for floor noise and impact sound?
For footsteps and impact noise, you’ll normally want an acoustic underlay or a floor soundproofing system depending on the floor type and how severe the problem is. If you tell us your floor build-up (timber or concrete) we can point you to the right approach or check out our range of Soundproofing Systems.
Do you offer help choosing the right products?
Yes — use our Product Finder for a quick recommendation, or contact us for advice if you’ve got measurements, photos, or a specific noise problem you’re trying to solve.
Do you supply commercial and trade orders?
We do. If you’re working on an office, studio build, classroom, hospitality space, or a larger project, get in touch and we’ll help you choose the right materials and quantities.

We offer fast UK delivery on most products, and many orders qualify for next day delivery (see the delivery banner at the top of the site for current thresholds and details).
