Isolation Equipment

The Advanced Acoustics Isolation Equipment range provides vibration decoupling solutions for studio monitors, drum kits, PA and gig equipment, and domestic appliances — interrupting the vibration path between equipment and the floor or surface it rests on.

Five product families are available: the A.M.I PRO Speaker Isolation Pads (flat and sloped) for studio monitor decoupling, the ISOMAT Equipment Isolation Block for subwoofers and PA cabinets, the Drum Kit Isolation Platform range (standard and PRO) for drum kit decoupling, the Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad for domestic appliances and stage equipment, and the Drum Kit Isolation Kit PRO for complete ready-to-build drum platforms. All products are manufactured in the UK and available from stock.

Isolation Equipment Range — Product Guide

Why Vibration Isolation Matters

When audio equipment sits directly on a hard surface, vibration from the cabinet or appliance transfers into the supporting structure — desk, floor, or stage — and travels through the building fabric to adjacent rooms and floors below. This vibration transmission causes two problems: it introduces resonances and colouration into the sound at the listening position, and it transmits noise to adjacent spaces. Vibration isolation products address both by placing a compliant layer between the equipment and the surface, absorbing the vibration before it can enter the structure.

A.M.I PRO Speaker Isolation Pads — Flat and Sloped

The A.M.I PRO Speaker Isolation Pads decouple studio monitors from the desk, console bridge, or shelf surface they rest on. Each pack contains 4 pads — 2 placed side by side beneath each monitor — providing a 250N rated compliant foam layer between the monitor base and the surface. The Flat pad maintains a level monitor position suited to monitors already at ear level. The Sloped pad tapers from 25mm to 45mm, allowing the monitor to be angled upward or downward toward the listening position by reversing the pad orientation — suited to monitors sitting below or above ear level. Both formats measure 355mm × 115mm and cover 2 monitors per pack.

Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad

The Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad is a factory-bonded composite of a 10mm recycled rubber crumb layer and a 12mm Moisture Resistant MDF board, measuring 600mm × 600mm at 22mm total thickness. Rated to 100kg, it is suited to PA cabinets, stage monitors, and light machinery. Multiple pads can be butted together for larger equipment footprints. The rubber crumb layer is independently tested for vibration isolation performance; the MDF board distributes load evenly across the rubber surface to maintain consistent isolation across the full pad area.

Drum Kit Isolation Platform — Standard Kits

The standard Drum Kit Isolation Pad Kits provide the foam isolation risers required to build a drum isolation platform, supplied without the platform board. Two sizes are available: the 6ft × 8ft kit (8 risers, maximum platform 1.8m × 2.4m) and the 8ft × 8ft kit (10 risers, maximum platform 2.4m × 2.4m). Each riser measures 1200mm × 100mm × 50mm and is rated at 250N hardness. The risers are placed on the floor and a 25mm plywood or MDF platform board — not supplied — is glued to the top of the risers. All risers must be used regardless of the required platform size to maintain correct load distribution. Suited to situations where the platform board is already available or a specific board specification is required.

Drum Kit Isolation Kit PRO — Complete Platform Kits

The Drum Kit Isolation Kit PRO provides a complete drum platform kit — foam isolation risers, SilentBoard platform panels, contact adhesive, and PU adhesive — requiring only carpet to finish. Two sizes are available: the 1.8m × 2.4m PRO kit (10 risers + 6 SilentBoard panels) and the 2.4m × 2.4m PRO kit (12 risers + 8 SilentBoard panels). Both produce a finished platform height of 68mm. The SilentBoard panels provide additional sound attenuation within the platform build-up over a standard plywood or MDF surface. The PRO kits are the appropriate specification where a complete, ready-to-build platform in a single purchase is required.

Choosing the Right Isolation Product

For studio monitor decoupling — A.M.I PRO Flat (level position) or Sloped (angle correction required). For subwoofer and PA cabinet isolation — ISOMAT. For domestic appliances, stage cabinets, and light machinery — Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad. For drum kit isolation where the platform board is sourced separately — standard Drum Kit Isolation Pad Kit. For a complete drum platform in a single purchase — Drum Kit Isolation Kit PRO. All products are rated at 250N foam hardness where foam is the isolation material, ensuring load-bearing performance without bottoming out under equipment weight.

Construction and Compliance

All foam-based isolation products across the range use 250N rated open-cell or closed-cell polyurethane foam, meeting Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989). The Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad uses independently tested recycled rubber crumb at 750kg/m³ bonded to 12mm Moisture Resistant MDF. All products are manufactured in the Advanced Acoustics UK facility and available from stock.
