Advanced Acoustics Drum Isolation Kit PRO 1.8m x 2.4m

The Advanced Acoustics Drum Kit Isolation Kit PRO (1.8m × 2.4m) is a complete drum platform kit containing foam isolation risers, SilentBoard platform panels, contact adhesive, and PU adhesive — everything required to build a finished isolation platform, with the exception of carpet.

The kit contains 10 foam isolation risers (1200mm × 100mm × 50mm) and 6 SilentBoard panels (1200mm × 600mm × 18mm), producing a completed platform measuring 1.8m × 2.4m at a total height of 68mm. The foam risers sit on the floor and decouple the platform from the floor structure; the SilentBoard panels are bonded to the top of the risers to form the platform surface. The SilentBoard — a vibration-dampening composite board — provides additional sound attenuation within the platform build-up, improving isolation performance over a standard plywood or MDF surface. The foam is rated at 250N hardness, providing a firm, load-bearing base capable of supporting the full weight of a drum kit and drummer. Available in Black. Manufactured in the UK.

What's Included

10 × Foam Isolation Risers — 1200mm × 100mm × 50mm each. High load-bearing 250N foam. Form the vibration-isolating base layer between the floor and the platform surface.

6 × SilentBoard Panels — 1200mm × 600mm × 18mm each. Vibration-dampening composite board panels that form the platform surface, bonded to the top of the foam risers.

1 × 500ml Contact Adhesive — for bonding the foam risers to the SilentBoard panels.

1 × Mega Strength PU Adhesive — for bonding the SilentBoard panels together at the joins.

Not included: Carpet and drum kit. Carpet is recommended to protect the board surface and prevent the drum kit from sliding.

Applications

Recording studios and rehearsal rooms — complete drum kit isolation platform.
The PRO kit provides everything required to build a finished drum isolation platform in a single purchase. The foam risers decouple the platform from the floor structure, reducing the impact vibration and low-frequency noise transmitted to adjacent rooms and floors below during performance and recording. The SilentBoard surface layer provides additional sound attenuation within the platform build-up. Suited to recording studios, home studios, rehearsal rooms, and live rooms where drum isolation is required.

Complete platform vs. pad-only kit.
The PRO kit provides boards, adhesives, and risers in a single purchase — no additional materials are required beyond carpet. Where the platform board is already available or a custom board specification is preferred, the standard Drum Kit Isolation Pad Kit (risers only) is the appropriate specification.

Product Benefits

Complete kit — risers, SilentBoard, and adhesives included.
The PRO kit contains all the components required to build a finished drum isolation platform. The foam risers, SilentBoard panels, contact adhesive, and PU adhesive are all supplied, eliminating the need to source materials separately. The 68mm total platform height (50mm riser + 18mm SilentBoard) is the finished platform height before carpet.

SilentBoard platform surface — vibration-dampening composite board.
The SilentBoard panels provide additional sound attenuation within the platform build-up, improving isolation performance over a standard plywood or MDF platform surface. The 18mm thickness provides a rigid, stable platform surface for the drum kit.

250N high load-bearing foam risers.
The 50mm foam risers are rated at 250N hardness, providing a firm, load-bearing base capable of supporting the full weight of a drum kit and drummer without fully compressing. A fully compressed riser provides no isolation benefit; the 250N hardness ensures the foam remains in the compliant zone under typical drum kit loads.

Installation

Position the 10 foam isolation risers on the floor in a grid pattern across the intended platform area, spacing them evenly to provide consistent support across the full 1.8m × 2.4m platform footprint.

Apply the supplied Contact Adhesive to the top face of each riser and the underside of the SilentBoard panels at the corresponding contact points. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the boards carefully before pressing them down onto the risers. Apply the supplied PU Adhesive to the joins between adjacent SilentBoard panels to bond the platform surface together. The risers sit on the floor without adhesive to the floor surface; only the riser-to-board joint is bonded. The adhesive is solvent-based — ensure adequate ventilation throughout installation.

Top the finished platform with carpet to protect the SilentBoard surface and prevent the drum kit from sliding — carpet is not supplied.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the PRO kit and the standard Drum Kit Isolation Pad Kit?

The standard kit supplies foam isolation risers only — you source and cut a platform board (25mm plywood or MDF) locally. The PRO kit includes the foam risers, SilentBoard platform panels, contact adhesive, and PU adhesive in a single purchase — everything needed to build a finished platform except carpet. The SilentBoard surface also delivers better isolation performance than standard plywood or MDF, as the composite construction adds an additional layer of vibration damping within the platform build-up. If sourcing board locally is straightforward and cost is the priority, the standard kit is sufficient. If you want everything supplied and the best isolation performance from the platform, the PRO is the appropriate choice.

Why does the PRO kit use SilentBoard instead of standard plywood or MDF?

SilentBoard is a vibration-dampening composite board rather than a structural timber panel. Where plywood and MDF transmit vibration readily through their rigid structure, SilentBoard is manufactured to attenuate vibration within the board itself — providing an additional isolation stage between the foam risers below and the drum kit above. The result is a platform that performs better than a riser-and-plywood assembly of equivalent dimensions, without any increase in platform height or footprint.

Does the carpet on top need to be a specific type?

No specific carpet type is required. The carpet serves two purposes: protecting the SilentBoard surface from damage and preventing the drum kit hardware from sliding during play. Any standard carpet or carpet tile is suitable. Avoid very thin or hard-backed carpet on the drum kit contact points — a modest pile provides better grip for hardware feet and reduces the risk of movement during a session.

Can the platform be dismantled and moved to a new location?

The platform is designed as a semi-permanent installation. The SilentBoard panels are bonded to the foam risers using contact adhesive — this bond is strong and not intended to be reversed cleanly. The risers are not bonded to the floor, so the entire assembled platform can be moved as a unit if required, albeit done with care. For a fully demountable installation that needs to be taken apart regularly, the standard kit with a single large board is easier to handle, as the board can be lifted off the risers without tools.

Please note: Carpet and Drum Kit is NOT included in this kit.
Included in the kit are 6x 18mm thick platform boards which will allow you to create a platform sized 1.8m x 2.4m. Also included are 10x platform strips to sit the platform on. If you prefer to create a smaller platform using less boards then this is perfectly fine, however you will still need to use the full complement of platform strips for adequate weight support. If using the full amount of boards you will need to glue the foam strips to the backside of the boards with a 325mm gap between each strip. If using less you boards you will need to calculate the correct gap between each strips so that they are distributed evenly.

We would recommend that you begin by laying the boards out on the floor upside down and pushing all the boards together to make up the overall size of the platform. Be careful not to damage any of the tongues. Next lay the platform strips in place on the boards making sure that the 2.4m edges of the platform and the edge of the strips are flush. The strips should be placed so that they are 100mm wide and 50mm tall. The strips may be slightly long but they can be compressed to fit the board it required. Once you have laid all the strips out and they are evenly distributed you can now glue the strips to the boards using our contact adhesive (not supplied). Because of the rigid nature of the boards it does not matter that the strips don’t land on the board joints.

Once all the strips are glued in place you can now separate the boards and flip them over so that the platform is strip side down, board side up. Take note of the order in which they go back together so that you maintain the even gaps of strips. You can now glue the boards together using PU adhesive (not supplied) ensuring the boards are tightly fitted and correctly aligned so that there are no gaps. The PU adhesive will bubble and expand, this is fine. Once the glue is fully hardened you can trim the excess glue back. The platform is now ready to use. If you wish you can fit carpet on top of the platform or our Silent Floor Ultra for that extra level of impact noise reduction, followed by carpet.
