12" Cube Acoustic Foam Tile Pack
The Advanced Acoustics Cube 12" is a 57mm open-cell polyurethane acoustic foam tile in a precision CNC-cut cube profile, measuring 305 × 305mm. The tile achieves NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), providing effective broadband absorption across the mid and high frequency range. Each pack contains 12 tiles, covering 1.11m² (12ft²) of wall or ceiling surface.
The 57mm cube profile sits in the mid-upper tier of the Advanced Acoustics 12" range — above the 40mm entry-level profiles in both depth and performance, and below the Class B tiles. Absorption is strong from 500Hz upward and increases toward the higher frequencies: 0.45 at 250Hz, 0.79 at 500Hz, 0.80 at 1kHz, 0.96 at 2kHz, and 1.19 at 4kHz — with particularly strong performance at 2kHz and above.
The cube profile produces a bold, geometric grid pattern when installed, creating a structured, architectural wall surface that is visually distinct from wedge and pyramid profiles. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.

For studios where entry-level 40mm tiles have proved insufficient and Class B performance is not required, the Cube 12" provides a meaningful step up in both depth and NRC. The 0.79 at 500Hz addresses lower-mid frequency reverberation more effectively than thinner profiles, while the strong performance from 2kHz upward controls the high-frequency flutter echo that is the primary acoustic problem in untreated recording environments. The Cube 12" provides strong absorption across the full vocal recording range — 0.80 at 1kHz through to 1.19 at 4kHz — reducing the coloration introduced by room reflections and producing a cleaner vocal capture. The 57mm depth delivers better low-mid absorption than standard 40mm tiles, helping to control the low-frequency build-up common in small booths. The strong high-frequency absorption of the Cube 12" — 0.96 at 2kHz and 1.19 at 4kHz — targets the frequencies most responsible for the harsh, reflective quality of untreated podcast and broadcast spaces. The 0.79 at 500Hz adds lower-mid control that benefits voice clarity at the microphone position. The 12-tile pack covering 1.11m² suits targeted treatment of the recording position wall.

Installation
Plan the tile layout before beginning installation. Sketch the intended pattern on paper and mark the layout on the wall or ceiling surface using pencil, masking tape, or a laser level. Distribute tiles evenly across the treatment area rather than concentrating them in a single large cluster; even distribution provides more consistent absorption coverage across the room.
Apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat the equivalent coverage on the wall. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the tile carefully before pressing it to the wall. Avoid overspray onto the tile face or surrounding wall surface; use masking tape on the wall to protect adjacent areas. If adhesive webbing contacts the tile face, allow it to dry fully before attempting to remove it — in most cases it can be peeled away cleanly once dry. The adhesive is solvent-based. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout the installation — keep doors and windows open.
For a temporary or demountable installation, mount tiles onto 6mm MDF or plywood sheet to create panels, then hang the panels using D-rings and picture hooks. For ceiling-mounted panels, use four mirror plates per panel. This approach allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall or ceiling surface.
