The Pyramid profile is synonymous with studios around the world. It is a a classic profile that will never date. And the performance the profile offers is great too. The balance of increased surface area and relative tile thickness ensures that absorption is kept balanced. These panels are CNC cut to ensure a uniform profile all the way though. These 75mm Pyramid Mel-Acoustic Acoustic Foam Panels are 600mm x 600mm and have a peak thickness of 75mm with the base thickness being 38mm. A thinner version of the Pyramid profile is also available. There is also a matching Wedge profile too. These panels can be easily trimmed or cut to size to suit the space you are treating and as they are supplied in white they are also clean and light helping you give your studio a light and airy feel to it. This Pyramid profile we offer has been carefully calculated by us to ensure we offer the maximum in terms of performance for this thickness. The balance we have made with not taking too much foam out of the panel to create the profile that looks good has resulted in an acoustic panel that gives you the required amount of absorption.
Our Mel-Acoustic Range is the latest addition to our product stable. The range incorporates the use of Melamine Acoustic Foam manufactured by Basotect and we convert it into the various shapes and sheets. Melamine foam is a flexible open cell foam made from melamine resin. The melamine foam has a high flame resistance, low weight, good thermal properties and also has an extremely high sound absorption capacity. The other great feature of Melamine foam is that it is available in white and it will not discolour. Being halide free, Melamine foam when exposed to either naked flame or extreme heat does not emit any of the toxic by-products associated with conventional polyurethane based acoustic foams. We use a high density version being 16kg/m3. This denser version gives us better results in terms of absorption. The density we use is in some cases almost twice the density of the Melamine Acoustic Foam panels our competitors use which reduces their cost but also reduces their performance.
Our Mel-Acoustic Panels have a fire classification of Class '0' and B1. It also has no fibres so it is a non-irritant and so is safe for use in any environment. At Advanced Acoustics we have many years of experience in acoustic treatment and soundproofing with a name that is highly respected. Acoustic treatment and soundproofing is all that we do it is what we specialize in. This product is kept in stock for immediate delivery.

Installing our acoustic foam panels is very simple. The first step to take is to work out your preferred layout of acoustic panels. Do a sketch on paper first to make sure that the layout looks right and you have enough acoustic foam and space for your planned design.
Once the acoustic panels are mounted to the wall or ceiling they are hard to remove so it is important to get the layout right before you begin. Once you have a sketch of the layout you plan you can then mark up the wall with the layout. You can either use pencil, masking tape or lasers to layout the design on the wall or ceiling.
When mounting the acoustic panels to the wall apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the panel and the mounting surface. There is no need to heavily cover the acoustic foam or wall with adhesive, a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile along with 50% - 75% coverage of the rest of the acoustic panel will be fine. Use the same equivalent amount on the wall. Avoid overspray on the tile and the wall so that adhesive can’t be seen when the panels are in place. Masking Tape on the wall will help with this. If you do get webbing overspray on the foam panel, don’t touch it, allow it to dry, in most cases you will be able to peel the adhesive off.
The adhesive we supply is solvent based so we recommend that you keep all doors of the room and any windows open whilst completing the installation.
If you prefer to have a more temporary installation of acoustic panels you can mount the acoustic foam onto 6mm MDF or ply. These panels can then be hung on the wall using a D-Ring and picture hook for a damage free installation. If fitting them to a ceiling then 4 mirror plates would be required.
