Advanced Acoustics 15" x 15" Tegular Acoustic Studio Foam Tile Kit
The Advanced Acoustics Tegular Kit is a mixed-thickness acoustic foam tile pack containing 8 tiles each of the 2" (50mm), 3" (75mm), and 4" (100mm) Tegular profiles — 24 tiles total, all measuring 381mm × 381mm (15" × 15"). The pack covers 3.48m² (37.5sqft) of wall or ceiling surface. Combined performance achieves NRC 1.00 (Sound Absorption Class A), with absorption of 0.74 at 250Hz, 1.06 at 500Hz, 1.10 at 1kHz, 1.14 at 2kHz, and 1.13 at 4kHz.
The mixed-thickness configuration produces a varied wall surface with three distinct tile depths, creating a three-dimensional installation that distributes absorption across a broad effective frequency range in a single pack. All three profiles share the same Tegular format — a plain flat face with a 45-degree bevel cut on all four sides — producing a consistent joint line between tiles across the mixed-depth installation. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.
Applications
Professional recording studios and control rooms — mixed-depth Class A treatment.
The Tegular Kit delivers Class A broadband absorption through a mixed-depth installation that combines the strengths of the 2", 3", and 4" profiles in a single wall treatment. The varied tile depths distribute absorption across a broad frequency range, with the 4" tiles providing the strongest low-frequency absorption and the 2" and 3" tiles contributing high-frequency control. Suited to studios and control rooms where a mixed-depth installation is preferred for visual variation alongside comprehensive Class A performance. Use the Coverage Calculator to determine the number of packs required.
Feature wall installations — three-dimensional tegular treatment.
The three distinct tile depths in the Tegular Kit create a three-dimensional wall surface that functions as both acoustic treatment and architectural feature. The consistent Tegular profile across all three depths maintains a clean joint line between tiles, while the depth variation produces a structured, layered wall finish. Suited to environments where the visual presence of the acoustic treatment contributes to the room design.
Rehearsal rooms and live rooms — distributed broadband absorption.
The mixed-depth configuration suits rehearsal and live room installations where distributed absorption across a broad frequency range is preferred. The combination of 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm depths addresses the full frequency range of musical performance, from the low-mid energy of bass instruments through to the high-frequency content of cymbals and vocals. The 3.48m² coverage per pack suits the larger wall areas typical of these environments.
Product Benefits
NRC 1.00 / Sound Absorption Class A — mixed-depth broadband absorption.
The Tegular Kit's combined performance achieves NRC 1.00 (Class A), with absorption of 0.74 at 250Hz, 1.06 at 500Hz, 1.10 at 1000Hz, 1.14 at 2000Hz, and 1.13 at 4000Hz. The mixed 2", 3", and 4" depths distribute absorption across a broad frequency range in a single pack — the 4" tiles contribute the strongest low-frequency absorption, the 3" tiles add mid-depth performance, and the 2" tiles complete the high-frequency coverage. The result is a varied-depth installation that achieves Class A performance with a three-dimensional wall surface.
Three depths in one pack — varied three-dimensional installation.
Eight tiles each of the 2", 3", and 4" Tegular profiles provide three distinct tile depths for a varied wall installation. All three profiles share the same 15" × 15" footprint and Tegular bevel-cut format, producing a consistent joint line between tiles across the mixed-depth surface. The depth variation creates a three-dimensional wall finish while maintaining the clean, architectural appearance of the Tegular profile.

Installation
Plan the tile layout before beginning installation. Sketch the intended pattern on paper, deciding on the arrangement of the 2", 3", and 4" tiles across the treatment area, and mark the layout on the wall or ceiling surface using pencil, masking tape, or a laser level. Distribute the three depths evenly across the treatment area to achieve consistent broadband absorption coverage across the room.
Apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat the equivalent coverage on the wall. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the tile carefully before pressing it to the wall. Avoid overspray onto the tile face or surrounding wall surface; use masking tape on the wall to protect adjacent areas. If adhesive webbing contacts the tile face, allow it to dry fully before attempting to remove it — in most cases it can be peeled away cleanly once dry. The adhesive is solvent-based. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout the installation — keep doors and windows open.
For a temporary or demountable installation, mount tiles onto 6mm MDF or plywood sheet to create panels, then hang the panels using D-rings and picture hooks. For ceiling-mounted panels, use four mirror plates per panel. This approach allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall or ceiling surface.
